Why is my cat acting so strange?
We found our cat Mischa as a stray. we think she might have been abandoned. She’s calm, quite affectionate and she’s nice to have around, but we’re starting to get a little worried about how serious she is. She never plays with anything! not even toys that are furry or filled with catnip! She’s only young, so i highly doubt it’s her age that makes her so ‘un playful’. also, she doesn’t have any interest in exploring or climbing. she spends her time sleeping and being petted. Is this normal cat behavior?!
Have you had her long enough for her to catch up nutritionally from having been on her own? If she is still recovering from malnurishment and deprivation from having been abandoned, she may not have the strength and energy yet. There is also the possibility that she may have parasites (worms) preventing her from getting all the nutrition and energy she needs from the food you give her. Or perhaps she is still mentally recovering and destressing. Or perhaps this is just her personality.
Have you had the chance to get her to the veterinarian since you took her in to your home? If not, it might be useful to ask the vet. about it.
